‘Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Urbanski & Beilman’

9 Dec.'21
- 20:00

Ten years ago, conductor Krzysztof Urbanski was still ‘the new kid in town’; now, the dynamic star is mentioned in the same breath as other great artists. With the Berliner Philharmoniker, the London Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic among the engagements on his schedule, this is only right. In addition to John Adams' contemporary classic Short Ride in a Fast Machine, he joins forces with young American star violinist Benjamin Beilman for Samuel Barber's relatively unknown but justly loved Violin Concerto. Afterwards, all the orchestral stops are pulled out in Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition in Maurice Ravel's unparalleled orchestration, with the majestic Great Gate of Kiev as the finale. Come and see and hear the cream of the new generation of artists at work during this spectacular programme!
