Arthur Cravan, une vie à corps perdu

A legendary figure of defiance against all forms of conformism, the poet-boxer Arthur Cravan helped to shatter the social, poetic and aesthetic conventions of his time in the early 20th century. Described by André Breton as a ‘raw genius’, Cravan recounts in this film the adventures and passions that punctuated his life. An iconoclast by principle as much as by inclination, he takes the opportunity to cast an uncompromising retrospective glance at the poetic insurrection in which he played a part. By refusing to separate life from his artistic expression, his ‘dazzling journey’ thus inspired most of the artistic and political avant-garde movements of the last century.
