After the screening of the film « Félicité », join us for a special « After-party DJ/VJ Autour de Félicité ». Continue browsing through Kinshasa and immerse yourself in the pictorial and musical sphere of Alain Gomis’ film. VJ Kevin (collective Minderz) and DJ Footrac (collective Fumisteries) take hold of unused rushes and sound elements of the film to build a unique and original performance with the remixed music of the famous Kasai All Stars. An exceptional DJ-VJ set to connect with the vibes of the Congolese capital! Also on show are reproductions of photographs and works from artists who gave Alain Gomis inspiration for his film: Bruce Clarke, Gastineau Massamba, Leonard Pongo, Mega Mingiedi, Kura Shomali…

Special Guest : Rodriguez Vangama (DRC)

Rodriguez Vangama is co-composer for the musical “Coup Fatal”. His numerous talents gained him general recognition. After working with Papa Wemba, Werrason, Jean Goubald and Baloji, he sets up his own band “Les Salopards”. As the after party special guest, this outstanding guitarist will present two new sets inspired by Alain Gomis’ film atmosphere.

Exhibition

The works of photographers such as Léonard Pongo or Kiripi Katembo, firmly rooted in the city of Kinshasa of which they give a rough and acrid image, have had a major influence on Alain Gomis when preparing his film. His vision was also nourished by numerous contemporary artists like Soly Cissé and Evans Mbungua. This exhibition on tarps thus presents a selection of these artists' works, with the intent to further shed light upon the film’s universe.
