‘Bach… Cantatatanz’

Staged concert by Nico and the Navigators

Bach never wrote an opera, yet he had a great feel for drama and expression. His oratories are actually religious operas without a set; his cantatas evoke visually striking images. For Nico and the Navigators, it was obvious that Bach should take centre stage in their musical theatre production Cantatatanz. The company demonstrates the physical and visual element in Bach’s faith and music to the sound of Bach’s arias. Musicians and singers become part of the visual style; music, dance and execution go hand in hand.
