‘Balkan Trafik Festival’

The third day of Balkan Trafik! brings together musicians from all corners of South East Europe. Lunxhëria, a twenty-voice choir in colourful national costume gives you an introduction to traditional Albanese culture. The five musicians from Söndörgö play Southern music from Serbian and Croatian villages along the Danube in Hungary and the Bulgarian group Oratnitza regales you with a mix of dubstep, drum ‘n’ bass and Orthodox songs. Kristijan Azirovic sets the scene with his merry band of brass players and percussionists. He won prizes in the ‘first trumpet’ and ‘best trumpet player’ categories at the Guca Trumpet Festival. In the Balkan Kafé the Greek Katerina Tsiridou and Fanouris Trikilis put on a music and dance performance in which everything revolves around rebetika, the Greek blues. In addition, Mandili, the Georgian trio that is taking the world by storm with its beautiful songs on Youtube, will be performing life. Join in a debate, and get involved in a dance workshop with Kesaj Tchavé. And as if that weren’t enough, throughout the day there are opportunities to win trips to the Guca Festival or in Montenegro!
