‘Belgian National Orchestra, Hermus & Diricq’

24 Sept.'21
- 20:00

Although the saxophone is a Belgian invention, the instrument is rarely heard in the concert hall. Simon Diricq and the Belgian National Orchestra invite you to discover this versatile instrument in Jacques Ibert's joyful Concertino da Camera, one of the most played classical works for saxophone. They will then close the programme with the symphonic compilation of Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. Dutch composer Henk de Vlieger has reduced Wagner's four-hour comic musical drama to a compact one hour-long version featuring each of the orchestral highlights in quick succession.
