It’s no coincidence that Bolis Pupul’s music sounds the way it does. Born in Belgium to a Chinese mother and Belgian father and raised in the creative city of Ghent, Bolis’ music is a joyous cross-cultural assemblage. Mixing diverse styles of electronica – think early Mr Fingers-like techno, the exuberant minimalism of Yellow Magic Orchestra and captivating Belgian New Beat – Bolis’ singular sonics are at once playful, emotive, unrelenting and tender. The real key to unlocking Bolis’ musical secret, however, is the conversation he has between his Eastern and Western roots.

Born in Montreal, Canada, Marie is an electronic music performer, DJ, singer and songwriter. Active for more than a decade, Davidson’s work is characterized by her idiosyncratic vocal delivery and an ever expanding palette of sound. Renowned for her generous performances with hard-hitting percussion, haunting synth melodies and catchy punchlines, she is also acclaimed for her broad catalog of recorded music. She has released work under her own name and as Essaie pas on labels such as Ninja Tune, Cititrax (Minimal Wave), DFA Records & more.
