Each Bozar all over the P(a)lace is an opportunity to experience the Palace and its exhibitions in a different way, through a rich programme of multidisciplinary artistic interventions. Inspired by the narrative work using moving images and archival footage developed by William Kentridge and The Centre for the Less Good Idea, this evening is dedicated to moving imaginaries, stories, both grand and personal, memory and creativity.
Combining historical and personal archival footage, Cinema Imperio is a film-performance conceived and performed by Italian-Eritrean artist Muna Mussie. It explores the power of images to shape historical narratives and manipulate reality. The performance was originally conceived as an individual experience, with spectators watching the projection while being guided by both Muna Mussie’s live human voice and an AI-generated synthetic voice. The film-performance will be presented several times at Le 23, for a limited audience each time. A collective of musicians and DJs will take over the Horta Hall, while the exhibition William Kentridge. I am not me, the horse is not mine remains open throughout the evening until midnight.
