Bozar all over the P(a)lace - March

25 Mar.'27
- 18:00

Guest artist in the exhibition Sweet, Sour, Power: The Voyage of the FruitLéuli Eshrāghi, who is also a researcher and curator, is developing a performance for this edition of Bozar All Over the P(a)lace. It draws on their research into embodied knowledge, ceremonial and political practices, language renewal and Indigenous futurisms across the Great Ocean (the Pacific Ocean basin) and beyond.

Alongside this, Bozar invites the collective kekahi wahi from Hawaii to present a selection of short films at The 23, in dialogue with the exhibition. Founded in 2020, kekahi wahiis a community-led filmmaking project run by filmmaker Sancia Miala Shiba Nash and artist Drew K. Broderick. This informal network of contributors documents the transformations taking place across the Hawaiian Islands and shares intersectional narratives from the wider Pacific through workshops, exhibitions, films, screenings and publications.

Entitled when the sun was darkened, to cause the moon to shine, the film programme curated by kekahi wahi for Bozar brings together archival footage and experimental short films that embody and resonate with the winds and ocean currents of Moananuiākea, in Oceania. Connecting disparate archipelagos, sovereign and occupied island nations, these films are shaped by thousands of years of migration and movement, creolised languages, elemental forces in conflict, and ancestral dreams.
