Of the 500 young pianists who entered the 18th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition, only one will come out on top. The high-level musical event is usually organised every five years in Warsaw. Held since 1927, the competition has left an indelible mark on the careers of several great pianists, such as Maurizio Pollini (1960), Martha Argerich (1965), and Krystian Zimerman (1975). Originally planned for 2020, the competition’s 18th edition was postponed to 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Come discover the exceptional talent of this year’s winner, as part of the Bozar Next Generation series.
