Musick: A Sister to Poetrie

The ensemble InVocare was founded as part of the AVES (Advanced Vocal Ensemble Studies (AVES) programme at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and brings together singers from all over the world who specialise in singing English and Italian madrigals from the 16th and 17th centuries. Because of the attention paid to the correct pronunciation of the language, to the homogeneity of the sound and to the stage presentation, the ensemble has been awarded the title of 'IYAP Selected Promising Ensemble 2019', presented by the International Young Artist's Presentation from Antwerp. In October 2020, thanks to Bozar, the ensemble took part in an online masterclass by David Crystal on the original pronunciation of Shakespearean English. InVocare invites you to enjoy the advances in their interpretation, through an immersion in the highly poetic English music of the late Renaissance.
