‘Bright Festival’

We will keep our doors open longer so you can discover some luminous works of art in the darkness of the night. During the Bright Festival, the Brussels light festival, Bozar goes all out with the Swedish Ecstasyexhibition. Spearheading the expo is Swedish artist Hilma af Klint. She designed her Paintings for the Temple, consisting of nearly 200 paintings and drawings, a real temple, but it was never realised during her lifetime. We built a unique Virtual Reality experience of that famous temple in the exhibition. Contemporary artist Carsten Höller created a dazzling light installation that puts you into a trance – which is exactly what the exhibition is about: ecstasy, mysticism, and esoteric speculation.
