‘Brussels Museums Nocturnes 2018’

1 Nov.'18
- 17:00

Chris Marker - Theodoor van Loon

Chris Marker was a writer, photographer, illustrator, musician, multimedia artist and globetrotter, but he is best known for conquering the world with his cult film La Jetée (1962). During the Nocturnes go on an evening stroll through his film world and take in the paintings of Theodoor van Loon while you’re at it. This contemporary of Rubens drew inspiration from the work of Caravaggio and other Italian old masters. Did you know that many of his canvases can be found in churches in Brussels and Scherpenheuvel? An undiscovered gem.
