Ten years ago Patricia Kopatchinskaja was hailed as a Rising Star, today she travels the world barefoot and (luckily for us) returns to Belgium on a regular basis. She brings Jean Sibelius’ wonderful violin concerto to life with the brilliant Budapest Festival Orchestra. Ivan Fischer wants his audiences to experience the emotions of the music and, for that reason, always pushes his orchestra to the limit. What better music to achieve this than the highly imaginative soundscape of Richard Strauss, or the deeply human finale of Gustav Mahler?
