‘Can Lagos Save Africa?’

16 June'16
- 17:00

With a population of 21 million, Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria and on the African continent. The megacity is one of Africa’s financial hubs but, despite its growth and the country’s vast oil reserves, life remains very difficult in Nigeria. Its people have to contend with terrorist attacks by Boko Haram and government corruption. Its local politicians promote the development of civil society. BOZAR has invited Governor Ambode, town planners and artists to talk to us about Lagos. Don’t miss this special event looking at Nigeria’s society.

Moderators: Tolu Ogunlesi (Journalist of Lagos), et Chris Burns (Euronews).

Speakers: Akinwunmi Ambode (Gouvernor of Lagos), Qudus Onikeku (founder and artistic director of The QDancecenter, Lagos), Azu Nwagbobu (director of Lagos Photo festival), Michael Uwemedimo (director of CMAP, Collaborative Media Advocacy Platform)
