The Well-Tempered Songbook
Belgian pianist Julien Libeer continues his exploration of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier in a new project featuring the voices of the Cappella Amsterdam. At the beginning of 2022, the musician released the album J.S. Bach & Beyond: A Well-Tempered Conversation on harmonia mundi: a dialogue between Bach's illustrious 300-year-old work and those of 19th and 20th century composers. For their concert at Bozar, Julien Libeer and the famous Dutch choir are interested in a different dialogue, this time between this masterpiece of piano repertoire and choral works from various centuries linked to the German master's choral writing: an encounter between piano and voices, piano and vocal counterpoint, music and words.
