Carrier’s album Rhythm Immortal received an impressive 8.4 score from the American web magazine Pitchfork. As the publication itself noted: “On his astonishing debut LP under a new alias, he seems to rewrite the laws of physics.” You may know the Antwerp-based Brit as techno DJ Guy Brewer or through one of his many other aliases. You could describe his music as downtempo dub techno, with beats so physical it feels as though you can sense the air vibrating between the drum and percussionist.

What began as a loose collective of collaborating artists –  brought together by experimental composer and performance artist Billy Bultheel and artist, filmmaker and musician Alexander Iezzi – has gradually evolved into a longer-term group. Multi-instrumentalist Cem Dukkha and singer and clarinettist Ivan Cheng have since joined 33 as permanent members. At Bozar, they will not only present their latest album, Tripolar, but also transform their live set into a performance and installation piece that defies audience expectations. 33 delivers a blend of hardcore rave, introspective chamber music and artistic punk that is as raw as it is beautiful.
