What terrible secret is hidden behind one of the finalists of the Queen Elisabeth Competition?

The Chapel, the new movie from director Dominique Deruddere, is about the twenty-three-year-old virtuoso pianist Jennifer Rogiers who has lived most of her life with a terrible secret. When she is given the chance to compete in the final of the world-famous Queen Elisabeth Competition, the memory of a traumatic childhood experience resurfaces: the finalists are isolated in the Music Chapel for a week without any contact with the outside world.

Director, actor, producer and screenwriter Dominique Deruddere is a leading figure in Flemish cinema, whose films include Iedereen beroemd! which was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2000, and Wait until Spring, Bandini (an adaptation of John Fante's cult novel produced by Francis Ford Coppola). The Chapel is his tenth film.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Dominique Deruddere and Taeke Nicolaï.

There will be a photocall starting from 18:45. De film will be in theaters 8 February 2023 (UGC De Brouckere & Toison d'Or, Kinepolis, Stockel, Flagey, Cinema Aventure).
