▶︎▷▶︎ The concert of Kolinga, scheduled for tonight as part of the Club Night, is unfortunately cancelled for medical reasons. Kolinga is a musical adventure with a thousand sources that have been skilfully explored. Rebecca M'Boungou, a Franco-Congolese musician, sings about her life as a mixed race woman and explores the wonder and turmoil of having a multiple identity. The lyrics, in French, Lingala or English, reflect her multifaceted heritage, as does her music, a mix of soul, jazz, rumba and hip hop influences. Originally a duo, in 2018, Kolinga expanded to become a sextet, from the desire to say more, say it louder and to go further. In 2012, Rebecca released an autobiographical album: Legacy. She deals with the ghosts of the past, the memories that come back to us and those that we flee. The Congolese electric guitars mix their mournful sound with jazz melodies to create a perpetual trance, sometimes slow, sometimes frenzied.
