Concert of the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides

Our annual gala concert, on the occasion of the King's Feast, will start with the overture To Youth by István Sárközy. Then, the band will accompany the cellist Álvaro Lozana Cames, 4th laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2026 in the Concerto for Cello and Concert Band by Franz Cibulka.

After the intermission, we will hear the Carnival Overture, Op. 92 by Antonin Dvořák, an ode to life expressed through folk songs and dances and followed by the Sinfonietta by Leoš Janáček, an orchestral suite in five movements. According to tradition, this evening will conclude with the famous March of the 1st Guides Regiment, a legendary cavalry march composed by Jean-Valentin Bender.
