For more than 20 years, the Congolese Civil War is turning a territory as big as western Europe into hell on earth. Swiss theatre director, journalist and essayist Milo Rau examines the causes and backgrounds to the bloodiest economic war in human history in a stunning transmedia art project.

Milo Rau (born 1977 in Berne) studied sociology, Romance philology and literature in Paris, Berlin and Zurich. Since 2002 he has published more than 50 theatre plays, films, books and actions that toured more than 30 countries and were screened at major festivals. Among other things, Milo Rau received the Peter Weiss Award and the 3sat Price in 2017. In 2016, he was honoured with the ITI Price for World Theatre Day. Milo Rau will be taking over the management of the Ghent National Theatre from the season of 2018/19.
