Improvisation is one of the main characteristics of Judith Sánchez Ruíz’s work, which she sees as constantly developing. Her choreography often undergoes transformations rooted in the architecture of the body and geometric shapes. Born in Havana, she lived in New York from 1999-2011, and has since been based in Berlin. Judith Sáchez Ruíz is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She founded the JSR Company in 2010, after having been a member of several dance troupes, including the DanzAbierta Company in Cuba, and the famous Trisha Brown Dance Company. Her work has been performed at several international festivals and in prestigious locations such as the Guggenheim Museum. She teaches and runs master classes all over the world.
