‘Duo²’

5 Feb.'23
- 11:00

Piano duos are rather rare, and therefore this concert is an exclusive opportunity to hear a special repertoire. Kanako Ninomiya and Sara Vujadinović have Japanese and Serbian roots and they first met in Brussels. They enjoy playing together, either side by side on one piano or each on their own instrument. For their concert during the Rachmaninov festival they have naturally chosen a Russian programme: sparkling duets by Skriabin, and Stravinsky’s piano arrangement of his ballet music Petrushka, devised on this occasion for two pianos. From Rachmaninov himself, they are performing Suite No. 1, dedicated to Tchaikovsky and his Russian Rhapsody, which the piano virtuoso wrote when he was only 18.
