‘Emma Wills’

Concert Croissant #05

Take an introspective, meditative journey in the company of Emma Wills. The young Belgian guitarist was inspired for this programme by the calming 4-7-8 breathing technique. It involves breathing in for four seconds, holding your breath for seven seconds and then breathing out for another eight seconds. 4-7-8 immerses you in a varied musical universe where different eras and geographical regions converge. Emma Wills reveals her great mastery of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic guitar. This is precisely what moved Museum Vleeshuis in Antwerp to appoint her ambassador of historic guitars. Her elegant and authentic interpretations have also earned her the title of ‘Promising Young Musician of the Year 2022’, awarded by Klara radio station in the programme De Twintigers. At Bozar, she lets us enjoy a moment of calm in which vulnerability, introspection and hope get all the space they need.
