‘Estonian National Male Choir’

20 Sept.'17
- 20:00

To coincide with Estonia's Presidency of the European Union Council, BOZAR is welcoming one of the world's most distinguished choirs: the Estonian National Male Choir. In addition to the performers, this concert will turn the spotlight on the composers produced by this inestimably precious Baltic country. Veljo Tormis, who passed away in January 2017, left behind him an abundance of top-rated choir music. The minimalist Arvo Pärt is ranked among the best living composers. His timeless masterpiece De Profundis combines the intensity of song, the power of the organ and percussion in the most dramatic gradual crescendo. Blending in perfectly with the choir members, the organ, played by the unequalled improviser Toomas Trass, will also feature.
