Gloria in excelsis – Et in terra pax! The Angels’ message to the shepherds in the Christmas story and the promise of peace has inspired so much great music, sometimes solemn and thoughtful, sometimes joyful and exuberant.
The Brussels Choral Society presents two pieces that centre around this call for peace: Bruckner’s majestic yet pensive Mass in D minor and Poulenc’s Gloria, brimming with joy and energy.
For this special occasion, the Brussels Choral Society joins forces with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union and the Etesiane Orchestra under the baton of young Belgian conductor Gabriel Hollander.
