‘Eva Frapiccini - Golden Jail | Discovering Subjection, Pasqua Vorgia – Traces’

17 June →
4 Sept.'16

The streets and large central city squares have always served as places for people and regimes to demonstrate force, communicate civic sentiment or voice social and political resistance. In just the last decade we have seen major public and organised gatherings – including the Arab Spring, the Occupy Movement, the Greek Protests and the Hong Kong Umbrella Revolution – that appropriate public space in order to forcefully express their discontent and need for change. This joint exhibition focuses on public space in the aftermath of various demonstrations. How are the streets appropriated? And what traces have the strikes, manifestations and protests left on the urban fabric?
