Jorge Luis Álvarez Pupo (born in Havana, 1970-) is a freelance photographer based in Brussels. He specialises in artistic, editorial and sport photography. His artistic work focuses on themes such as migration, religion and identity. He approaches the question of migration by examining both physical and psychological displacement, to better understand the relationship between integration and identity. His work has been exhibited in Paris, New York, Berlin, Madrid, Berne, Havana and Sao Paulo. It is also part of art collections on display in cultural institutions such as the Albertina Museum (Austria), the Govinda Gallery (Washington D.C.) and FNAC’s photographic collection (Paris).
