‘THE FIGHT AGAINST AFROPHOBIA : State of Affairs in Europe’

1 Feb.'17
- 19:00

PRE-AFROPOLITAN FESTIVAL

As the economic and migration crisis divide Europe, a troubling trend of xenophobia mounts within member countries. In echo to the protest movement ‘Black lives matter’ in the United States, Black communities in Europe denounce the unaddressed issue of race in Europe and the Afrophobia which they continue to witness in their daily lives. This debate gives the floor to European parliamentarians, activists, a historian and a researcher to assess the state of things on the policies and actions to fight against Afrophobia in Europe

With: Marie Arena (European Parliamentarian), Cécile Kyenge (European Parliamentarian), Jamie Schearer (European Network of People of African Descent), Olivier Mukuna (journalist and essayist, Belgium) en Rokhaya Diallo (author, filmmaker, Paris).
Moderator : Koen Vidal (De Morgen).
