After the sudden disappearance of her partner one summer in Corsica, Lou Colpé returns to Durnal. Their home, a place where the absence is tangible, is transformed into a sanctuary. Everything there becomes a treasure and a ritual. She films what is reinvented every day: her survival. A moving manual for grief, Like a Fortress fort captivates with its luminosity, its humour and its masterful ode to friendship.

Lou Colpé is a documentary filmmaker, trained at the ERG in Brussels. Her training is multidisciplinary, encompassing installation, performance, screen printing and, primarily, video. She works as an artist-in-residence in care and support settings, notably in care homes specialising in dementia and in schools. Like a Fortress is her first feature-length documentary, which had its world premiere at the Visions du Réel Festival.
