The third part of our portrait of the pianist Herbert Schuch presents him in an attractive programme of chamber music, in the company of some talented young musicians: the Swiss clarinettist Reto Bieri, who studied at the celebrated Juilliard School in New York, and the French-German cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. Their programme is made up of some of the most beautiful works ever composed for these forces: Brahms, of course, and Beethoven, but also a contemporary work by Jörg Widmann, himself a brilliant clarinettist. The Schumann work will be performed in a version for trio.
