‘The Human Scale – Bringing cities to life – Andreas M. Dalsgaard & Simon Lereng Wilmont’

17 Nov.'19
- 18:30

By 2050, 80% of the world's population will live in an urban area, compared with 50% today. Yet city life is problematic. Climate change, solitude and health problems are all issues we are going to have to face and that are linked to our way of life. These challenges are at the heart of Jan Gehl’s reflection, Danish architect and professor who for the past 40 years has been studying human behaviour in an urban environment and the damaging effects of modern towns on the human species. He believes it is possible to build towns that are able to incorporate the needs and the intimacy of each individual. The Human Scale calls into question our vision of the future and places people at the centre of its urban design plan.
