‘The Human Surge - Eduardo Williams’

Exe, 25 years old, has just lost his job and is not looking for another one. Living in Buenos Aires, his neighbours and friends seem as odd to him as they always do. Online, he meets Alf, a boy from Mozambique who is also bored with his job and who is about to follow Archie, another youngster who has run away into the jungle. The film follows the lives of mostly young men in disparate parts of the world who are bored by (or released from) their jobs and seeking fulfilment elsewhere.

"Possessed of a quiet radicality and an invigorating cinematic freedom, The Human Surge announces the arrival of a bold new talent.” With these words by Andréa Picard from the Toronto International Film Festival, Eduardo Williams entered the stage of world cinema in 2016. In his debut feature film, you never know what to expect nor what will happen next. The screening will be in the presence of the director and will be followed by a Q&A.
