Istanbul has always been an incredibly fertile centre for musical creation. The many overlapping cultures have given rise to a particularly rich heritage that has become inseparable from the city. Songs play a prominent role, especially love songs, whose universal theme transcends all differences. In this concert you will discover songs by Greek, Turkish and Jewish composers. They will be performed by some of Istanbul’s best musicians: Yurdal Tokcan (oud), Derya Turkan (kemençe) and Hakan Güngör (quanûn), accompany Hakki Gürsoy Dinçer (voice) in a laid-back atmosphere that will carry you to the shores of the Bosporus.
