In a Danish town, a group of people is taking an Italian course: a hairdresser, the girl from the bakery, the manager of a restaurant, the director of the sports hall, the new vicar... They all find themselves alone in life; perhaps it is the hope for a touch of amore that drives them to grapple with the difference between a pizza and a piazza. During a trip to Venice, they have the opportunity to put their learning into practice – and the Italian sun gets the chance to bring people together.
