Glass meets Bach in patterns and layers

The Latvian Iveta Apkalna is one of the most talented organists of her generation. Indeed, she has been the titular organist of the Elbphilharmonie organ in Hamburg since its opening in 2016. After an initial invitation in 2015, she was asked back in 2017. Once again, BOZAR is keen for her to display her virtuosity and musical intelligence on the Centre for Fine Arts’ great organ. Henceforth familiar with the instrument’s registration, the musician will create a unique sound palette that has been adapted to this evening recital, a combination of Bach’s counterpoint and Glass’ minimalism.
