‘Jazztivism Night Special: Austerity...and what about rage?’

11 May'18
- 22:00

Manuel Hermia Trio + 2 (Samuel Blaser, Jean-Paul Estievenart)

Manuel Hermia creates his musical universe using his rules for the composition of Rajazz, a form of organisation of notes at the intersection of Indian modal and tonal music. His most recent project, Austerity... and what about rage expresses ‘the transformation of the world around us by highlighting the calm, fear, chaos or anger that that arouses in us’. Joined by Samuel Blaser on the trombone and Jean-Paul Estiévenart on the trumpet, the Manuel Hermia Trio magnifies this libertarian and emancipatory spirit which is characteristic of the music on his latest album.
