Bozar Next Generation
An up-and-coming talent and a monument of the contemporary music scene together on one bill. Composer Helmut Lachenmann developed his own idiom from avant-garde ideas in which silence is central. In Lachenmann’s presence, an imposing symphony orchestra will perform his Ausklang piece. He himself describes his music as seemingly unmusical noise that becomes music in created coherence. The concert will conclude with Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto by Júlia Pusker, nominated as a Rising Star by MÜPA Budapest. This young musician, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2019, has been praised for her “magical simplicity” and described as an “aristocrat of the violin”.
