Kali Malone

When Kali Malone released the organ album The Sacrificial Code in 2019, no one could have predicted that it would grow into an internationally acclaimed plea for slowness, focus and introspection. Malone showcases her clear vision in a concert that also includes compositions from her most recent record, All Life Long (2024). Her music is built on a foundation of evolving harmonic cycles that bring latent emotional resonances to the surface; letting go of expectations about how long a piece should last opens the door to reflection and contemplation. We have chosen the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula as a space to contemplate her contemporary ‘early music’. Malone has adapted her music especially for the cathedral’s organ, and is joined in some arrangements by her partner, Stephen O’Malley, for organ duets.
