Kentridge et les artistes contre les discriminations

William Kentridge is one of the leading figures in contemporary art in South Africa. He was a supporter of the movements fighting against apartheid. His animations denounced his country’s policy of segregation. As Bozar’s Grand Invité for the 2026–27 season, together with The Centre for the Less Good Idea, William Kentridge takes over Bozar with the exhibition "I am not me, the horse is not mine" and a selection of projects throughout the season.

This lecture (in French), which takes a light-hearted approach despite its serious subject matter, will explore, amongst other things, the discrimination experienced by artists in South Africa – as seen in the works of Kendell Geers and Jane Alexander – and in the United States by Kara Walker, Theaster Gates and Glenn Ligon.
