EUROPALIA ESPAÑA
Flamenco
During La noche de los tiempos, four exceptional artists uncover the roots of flamenco — from the music of the 16th and 17th centuries to the styles characteristic of the majismo era – the time of Goya – in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. María Marín delivers an intense guitar and vocal performance, while Proyecto Lorca evokes a raw, rhythmic soundscape in Agrícola. Sebastián Cruz surprises with his unique voice in the moving Zarabanda, and Perrate concludes with Tres Golpes, a radical and contemporary reimagining of flamenco. All four regard the music of the past as something living and present, showing how a deeper understanding of it enriches the present.
