Jordi Savall is an icon of the world of Early Music, but the Catalan seems able to turn his hand to just about anything. In his recording of Beethoven’s Third Symphony he has demonstrated that strong tempos and a large dose of enthusiasm really get the best from the historical instruments. The members of the Concert des Nations are a mixture of experienced musicians and young professionals. This combination produces an electric tension, which veteran Jordi Savall skilfully channels into an intense musical experience.
