‘Ligeti(s)’

Like an intercontinental journey with Lukas and György Ligeti at the helm, this programme takes us from San Francisco to Burkina Faso. The two musicians, each in their own way, have created a finely chiselled language through their encounters with non-European cultures, which involve mechanical velocity, intricate weaving and wild fantasy. A unique opportunity to rediscover two major pieces by György Ligeti, and the virtuoso combination of African music, electronics and symphony orchestra, as imagined by Lukas Ligeti.
