‘Little Girl Blue - Mona Achache’

When her mother died, Mona Achache discovered thousands of photos, letters and recordings, but these buried secrets make her disappearance even more of an enigma. Through the power of filmmaking and the beauty of incarnation, the director brings her mother back to life to retrace her journey and find out who she really was.

Mona Achache is a French-Moroccan director and screenwriter. After studying literature and theatre, she became assistant director and then scriptwriter on fiction and documentary films. In 2004, she directed Suzanne and Wawa, two award-winning short films, followed by Le Hérisson, her first feature film, which was released in over thirty countries. Her TV film Bankable was broadcast on Arte. She is a member of the 50/50 collective, which aims to promote gender equality and diversity in the film and audiovisual industries.
