The film will be introduced by director Nicolas Philibert.
What does the Louvre look like when the public isn’t there?
For the first time, a major museum opens its doors behind the scenes to a film crew: kilometers of underground galleries, workshops, storage areas housing thousands of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts, and areas off-limits to the public… Little by little, characters appear, multiply, and cross paths to weave the threads of a story: paintings are hung, rooms are rearranged, works are moved, and the guards try on their new uniforms…
A film where the everyday and the extraordinary, the mundane and the sublime, the comical and the dreamlike intertwine. The discovery of a veritable city within a city.
