Oral traditions, Afropop and electronic beats - 25 years of Afropean Experience

The 20thOctober  the Belgian-Congolese singer Marie Daulne not only celebrates 27 years of Afropean career around the world but also the digital pre-release of the new album ECLECTIC BREATH including PUMZI, a polyphonic composition with the new beatboxer generation. It is a listening experience and a call to the musical ceremony, the one in which we are all invited to participate through the breath and the voice.
In the course of her long and adventurous career, Marie has found a way to connect collectively with others, combining music, with her knowledge of voice and the mastery of human beatboxing by the Austrian band 'BAUCHKLANG'.
Together with 2 musicians on stage, Marie will turn into a DJ with an instantaneous vocal loop and she is going to ZAP you back to the roots of the oral African tradition in today’s digital world.
The performance will be accompanied by a visual collaboration with the photograph Patrick Willocq.

Marie Daulne aka Zap Mama is a world-famous Grammy nominated singer, composer, activist, and vocal polyphony teacher, born in the African Congo and raised in the centre of Europe, in Brussels. Zap Mama found worldwide success with her polyphonic female a cappella quintet in the early 1990s and coined the term "Afropean" as a way to express the existence of the bicultural generation of African Europeans. She introduces the world to her sense of ethno-influenced music and fashion.
In the last 25 years Zap Mama has toured through the United States, Japan and Europe, and has performed and collaborated with artists including the Neville Brothers, Al Jarreau, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Common, Bilal, Questlove, Bahamadia and Bobby McFerrin.
