Enchanteress: French Baroque Arias

Romantic, passionate, tender, oppressed, furious, dominating... The contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux is above all enchanting in this series of incarnations of the great mythological female characters of baroque and pre-classical opera. Illustrious magicians named Medea, Circea and Armide reveal their determination, their intentions and their extraordinary powers through arias by Lully, Charpentier, Destouches and Gluck, among others. With the help of the lyric company Les Épopées, directed by Stéphane Fuget from his harpsichord, the singer plunges back into French Baroque, a repertoire that has led to her success - alongside the operas of Rossini and Verdi - on the world's greatest stages over the past 20 years.
