‘Mayra Andrade’

Mayra Andrade has made cosmopolitanism her trademark. Born in Cuba to Cape Verdean parents, she grew up in Senegal, Angola and Germany before returning to Cape Verde as a teenager. She sings with a dazzling velvet voice that cannot fail to charm, from Creole to English, French and Portuguese. At Bozar, Andrade will perform in an intimate setting accompanied by the fantastic Cape Verdean guitarist Jorge Almeida, with whom she will delve into the most beautiful tracks in her discography, from the release of her first opus, Navega, in 2006, to her latest, Manga, not to mention Lovely Difficult, which earned her a nomination at the Victoires de la Musique in 2014.
