‘Medra-Jaly’

Medra-Jaly was recently formed by kora virtuoso Mamadou Dramé together with guitar and bass player Désiré and percussionist Lassana Seydi. Dramé was born in Casamance, a region in the South of Senegal. He comes from a great family of griots where the art of the kora has been passed on from father to son since 6 generations.  He lives  in Belgium since 8 years and performs all over the world.  Lassana Seydi also comes from Senegal while Désiré comes from Burkino Faso. Together they create contemporary music rooted in their respective cultural traditions. Medra-Jaly’s first album will be released in 2018.
