‘MEET THE ARTIST: James Casebere and Wouter Davidts’

During the international biennial of photography you can discover the work of the celebrated American artist James Casebere in the antechambers of the Centre for Fine Arts. Casebere makes models of buildings and the architectural environment – and then he photographs them. In this way the artist maps the historical and ideological development of a specific social context. His photos show constructions of strength and order: flooded interiors, prison structures, heritage sites. Recently the artist has returned to the domestic sphere and suburban neighbourhoods. Why?
